MICHAEL. FLYNN (Sr. Program Director)
Michael Flynn has 20 years of experience working in public schools. He started his career in education at one of the first small high schools in the South Bronx, where he was an English teacher and department leader. As an assistant principal for operations at a 1,200-student high school, Michael was responsible for compliance, school operations, community engagement and school safety. Later, Michael served as an instructional leader at a small high school where he developed an innovative teacher-coaching model and oversaw a transition to standards-based assessment. As Director of Program at Literacy Trust, Michael lead a team that trained staff members in 100 New York City public schools in early literacy and research-based literacy intervention. He holds a BA in English from Wesleyan University and MAs from Teachers College, Columbia University and from Bank Street College of Education.
